What’s a bang?
A bang is a fandom challenge in which artists & writers are paired to collaborate on art & fics. This event is a reverse mini bang.
In a reverse bang, artists begin working on fanart, then their descriptions and optional drafts are posted anonymously in a list for writers to claim as prompts. Then the pairs collaborate to produce fanart & fic that go together.
In a mini bang, the requirements are less than the traditional expectations in a big bang. For this challenge, artists are asked to produce one completed artwork in any medium. Writers are asked to complete a fic with a minimum of 5k words.

RULES
Content Guidelines
This is an event for Clowntown. All fanworks must be It-related.
This event is for the adult side of the fandom. You must be 18 or older to participate.
Bigotry and hate speech are not tolerated here. Works that promote bigoted attitudes will be rejected; they won’t be added to the bang’s collection on AO3 or retweeted on the official twitter.
This isn’t a NSFW-focused bang, but NSFW works are allowed as long as they’re clearly labeled. Although works aren’t required to be about the adult versions of the Losers, erotic content featuring underage characters is not welcome in this event.
Fanworks created for the bang must have sensitive content clearly labeled for both claims and posting. This includes the big four warnings on AO3 (Graphic Depictions of Violence, Major Character Death, Rape/Non-Con, Underage) at minimum.
Technical Guidelines
Art & fics for the bang must be new—you can’t have shared them (or drafts of them) online before.
Artists are required to produce at least one artwork per project. Art can be in any visual medium, but must be complete by posting time.
Writers are required to produce at least 5k words of fiction per project. Fics can be as long as you want, but must be complete by posting time and posted in full.
There are no rules about quality, but you’re expected to make an effort for your partner. Artists should upload, scan, or photograph their work in the highest quality they’re able to; writers should proofread their work and consider asking a beta reader to help.
FAQ
Have a question not answered here? You can ask us anything via our CuriousCat.
Q: How many times can I sign up?
A: You can sign up to be an artist, writer, or both. Artists can submit one or two works to be claimed. Writers can sign up to write for one or two pieces. You can also sign up to beta read or pinch hit.
Q: What’s a beta reader?
A: A beta reader proofreads or edits a fic. People who sign up to beta will have their names and contact info (e.g., twitter handle or email) available on a list for authors to contact if they need another pair of eyes on their work before publishing.
Q: What’s a pinch hitter?
A: A pinch hitter is a writer or artist who volunteers to fill in if a member of a team drops out last-minute. If participants drop out after claims, pinch hitters will be emailed with the descriptions of works that need accompanying fics or art, and can choose whether to help out and claim them.
Q: How do claims work?
A: Before claims, artists will be emailed a Google Form to fill out with information including a description of their WIP and (optionally) a sketch or draft. Then writers will be emailed a list of the available artworks to claim as prompts, along with a link to a closed Google Form. At a pre-specified time, the form will open, and writers can submit their top 5 choices. Pairs will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.
Q: What if there’s someone I don’t want to work with?
A: Claims will be anonymous on both sides until pairs are revealed, but there will be space on both forms (artists & writers) to specify if there’s someone you don’t want to work with. You don’t need to provide a reason; you just won’t be paired with them.
Q: What if there’s someone I DO want to work with?
A: Then you can work with them whenever you want! The spirit of this event is to promote new collaborations and friendships across the fandom, so please keep things anonymous until claims and don’t come in with established partnerships.
